Traditionally, we witness billboards while driving or walking. In response to this normality, I decided to create a Walking Billboard. It was constructed from 32 x 40 inch foam core.

The billboard was labeled and left with a mysterious "HOLE" at the top.

The billboard was transported to RISD's North Hall lobby, by the elevator and entrance. On top of the cube, I left a cup of different colored markers for students to write their responses.

Each side of the installation asked a question that alluded to billboards. Favorite fashion house/brand, favorite cereal, and favorite companies derived from the corporate aspect of a billboard. Therefore, the participants in this art performance had power in advertising their favorite brands. I asked for "Random Phone Numbers..." because many billboards contain phone numbers. Finally, I included "Vote for..." to reference political advertisements.

As people wrote responses, I shared my favorites on social media. Consequently, I controlled which responses were seen by my followers. This made me think about how advertising companies control what we see.

After the North Hall residences filled the billboard, I wore it down Waterman street for students, locals, and cars to witness.
